Waking up in the morning … let’s be honest, isn’t always the most appreciated experience of one’s day. Most people probably honestly don’t take into consideration that the rest of the day can never happen if one does not wake up. One wouldn’t be able to spend time with friends and family. One wouldn’t be able to find that soulmate. One wouldn’t be able to get that dream job or listen to some beautiful song that just brings back a wonderful memory……. If one did not wake up!

Most of us take waking up for granted. Sadly, some of us are in a depressive state of mind and even hate, dare I say, waking up in the morning. Well, you’re in luck, my dear friend, because I am here to burst that negative bubble in the lovingly annoyingly positive way that only I seem to be able to achieve…….with a huge needle to point out the fact… in order for blessings to take place in one’s life, in order for us to achieve goals, or in order for one to receive or give love… one must wake up!

As a child of the One Living G-d, the transitional period from the restful fog of slumber to the realization that one is coming into the consciousness of waking life… our first motivation is to thank our Blessed King, the Ruler over everything that has breath… to Thank Him and Him alone for giving us another day to wake and serve Him and potentially fulfill our mission for this life; all by restoring our soul to our body…. and waking us up!

This merciful allowance for an opportunity to acknowledge and thank our King for us is known as the ………. Modeh Ani. I give thanks or I appreciate or I am grateful.

the prayer goes like this….

Upon Arising, Modeh Ani

(prayer)

(in which we whispher or sing with joy in every fiber of our being)

Upon waking in the morning, even before washing your hands, say:

Modeh Ani

Modeh Ani. The first appearance of the exuberance of life brings with it the transcendent joy of holy rejoicing, which finds the fullness of its glorious expression through thanksgiving. Gratitude, recognizing the goodness of the Lord of the world, Master over all works, who in His goodness gives life to the living, is the storehouse of good. It contains all the substance of a fulfilment of obligation, as well as that spiritual refinement which comes through the fullness of love produced through relationship, and the neshama is illuminated by it, filled with light and joy. The teaching that there is an obligation to give thanks through language, particularly through the expression ‘grateful acknowledgement’ (modeh), is derived from two aspects of meaning in this term. One is thankfulness, todah, which results from gratitude toward the one who does good; the other is confession, hitvadut, which is an acknowledgement of the truth. The two are fit to one another. The first exuberance of life which meets one as they rise from sleep, finding before them a full, new world in all its wholeness and goodness, lifts up the light of the inner intellect to recognize the light and brilliance which lie at the foundation of life. In place of the muddied, physical perspective which is impressed in the nature of flesh, the spirit rises to a clear Divine perspective, to see the soul of the light of the Life-giver of the world in the splendor of its action. And moved by his feelings of thanksgiving, man acknowledges the truth, fulfilling the depths of the truth of spiritual awareness, testifying on all the light of life and existence, that it flows from the spring of goodness and its source, from the source of transcendent lovingkindness, which pours out abundant life to all the many worlds and their creations.

I. A man finds himself within himself, through the light of the Divine life which appears within him, that fills him with the good spirit of a feeling of gratitude, of a recognition of the Divine goodness and its expression. Because of what consideration is man worthy in the weakness of his power, in his small nothingness, when compared to the mighty greatness of existence and the awesome powers of creation which crown it. Standing before them, filled with emptiness, man loses the substance of his selfhood. But when the light of recognition of the Divine goodness shines on him, and all the holy offshoots, powerful in their holy might, which it awakens with him – then a man comes to awareness of the greatness of his worth, of his ‘I-ness’ and its non-disappearance into the wholeness of existence. Then he finds himself filled with joys to say wholeheartedly, I.

Olat Reiyah, Modeh Ani

There is another prayer that a woman would say during her morning prayers.

This prayer is said during the Morning Blessings or Weekday Shacharit…….

To appreciate the wisdom and splendor of this declaration in admiration of the brilliance and wisdom of our Creator, one must attempt to understand what is the will of G-d, the Holy Blessed One, for a woman?!

In the beginning, G-d...

(Genesis ch 1)

What was God's original intention for a woman?

Well In genesis ch 2 we read……

The man gave names to every animal, to the birds of the heaven, and to every beast of the field, but the man did not find a helper for himself.

Adonoy Elohim caused unconsciousness to fall upon the man and he slept. He took one of his ribs and closed over [filled] flesh in its place.

Adonoy Elohim built the rib that He took from the man into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
The man said: This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This shall be called Woman, for from Man [husband] was she taken.

Therefore, a man shall leave [the house where] his father and his mother [sleep], and cling to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

The two of them were naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed.

sefaria.org, metsudah chumash, 2009, Genesis ch 2: 20-25

Although later verses in the Tanakh and Torah aim to expand and bring a tangible understanding for human minds to attempt to possess on the above verses translated meaning…… I think we, as a generally applied human society, are in debate about what a woman is, has, used to be, and should be, let alone what G-d, in His wisdom and glory, primarily intended for a woman to be. With this possible lack of confidence in understanding, we might be required to look to the Women of Torah and Tanakh as examples of what G-d possibly intended and meant when he said…”and they were not ashamed”… as well the verse “Adonoy Elohim built the rib that He took from the man into a woman, and He brought her to the man.”

Genesis ch 2: 25 The two of them were naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed.

sefaria.org, metsudah chumash, 2009, Genesis ch 2: 20-25

The man and the woman were only able to become one fresh after……G-d took the woman to the man made from his rib bone…

Adonoy Elohim built the rib that He took from the man into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
The man said: This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This shall be called Woman, for from Man [husband] was she taken.

Therefore, a man shall leave [the house where] his father and his mother [sleep], and cling to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

sefaria.org, metsudah chumash, 2009, Genesis ch 2: 20-25

Because G-d didn’t say, after He created the woman, “it was very good” as He did on the sixth day when He created male and female.

Genesis ch 1: 27-28 And thus Elohim created man in his image. In the form of Elohim, He created him, male and female, He created them.
Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, and dominate the fish of the sea, the birds of the heaven, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.
Genesis 1: 31 Elohim saw all that He had made, and behold it was very good [completely prepared]. It became evening and it became morning, the sixth day.

sefaria.org, metsudah chumash, 2009, Genesis ch 1

No wonder some might be confused… at least at first, but after further examination of the Tanakh and writing of the Sages of Blessed Memory, we might understand that a woman came from the rib of a man for a Divine reason. A man was created from the clay or soil or earth, and then G-d breathed into his nostrils… only after the man had done service to the Almighty G-d… was he then permitted to rest and made useful to assist in G-d creating a woman.

I believe the reason why the man and woman were not ashamed is the same reason why G-d did not have the need to state “it” or “they were good or very good.” This is because, at this moment, the man and woman had not strayed from the word (commandments) of G-d and His original intention (ordinance, policies, and continual requirements for blessings) with them. I believe the man and woman at this time were just like the angels, trees, waters, and other creations… their entire desire was to be in constant and consistent communication (prayer) and righteousness before/ with the Holy Blessed One.

So when I woman prays….

This prayer that is said during the Morning Blessings or Weekday Shacharit…….

This is a declaration of our (woman of G-d), heartfelt intention, prophetic declaration, to be in consistent and continual communication (Prayer) with our Creator. Blessed be He through our day and in every aspect of our day… no matter the task, assignment, or situation.

In the following videos I intend to review several Prayer (Siddurim) books I have read in the past ten years or so. It is my intention to expand on my The Padilla de Dominguez Theory of Torah proving History and History proving Torah, with the expansion that the Tanakh, which every nation and people have in some form or shape, is a documentary of evidence for the Ten Commandments written in Exodus. Thus, proving that there is only one G-d, and He is a sovereign ruling G-d over every nation and all creation. Every Abrahamic faith attests to the truth of the Torah and therefore the Ten Commandments and the Kingship of Almighty G-d. Every nation has (although varying in levels or forms) several writings of the Torah Law and a Tanakh (in a variety of forms native to the culture and location) as their documented or folkloric history.

English Translation of the Ten Commandments

Exodus ch 20

  • Elohim spoke all these words, saying:
  • I am Adonoy, your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves [slavery].
  • You must not have any other gods before My Presence [besides Me].
  • You must not make for yourself any carved image, or picture of anything that is in the heaven above, or on the earth below, or in the water below the earth.
  • You must not prostrate yourself to them, and you must not worship them. For I, Adonoy your God, am a jealous Almighty. I am cognizant of the sins of fathers for [their] [rebellious] children, to the third and fourth [generations] of My enemies [when the children complete the sinning after their fathers].
  • But I do [acts of] loving kindness [goodness] for thousands [of generations] to those who love Me and preserve My commandments.
  • Do not take [swear in] the Name of Adonoy, your God in vain. For Adonoy will not acquit the one who takes [swears in] His Name in vain [falsely].
  • Remember the Shabbos day to sanctify it.
  • You may work six days, and do all your work.
  • But the seventh day is Shabbos to [before] Adonoy, your God. You must not do any manner of work—you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maid, your animal, and the foreigner within your gates.
  • For in six days Adonoy made the heaven and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day. Therefore Adonoy blessed the Shabbos and made it holy.
  • Honor your father and your mother so that your days may be lengthened upon the land that Adonoy, your God, is giving you.
  • Do not commit murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal [by kidnapping human beings]. Do not testify as a false witness [testimony] against your neighbor.
  • Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, his slave, his maid, his ox, his donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.

You must not make for yourself any carved image, or picture of anything that is in the heaven above, or on the earth below, or in the water below the earth.

You must not prostrate yourself to them, and you must not worship them. For I, Adonoy your God, am a jealous Almighty.

Many women have done well (Proverbs 31:29): Adam, the first man, was commanded about six commandments. Noach [was additionally commanded] about [not eating] a limb from a live animal. Avraham about circumcision. Yitschak was educated with [these] eight [commandments]. Yaakov [was additionally commanded] about [not eating] the sciatic nerve. Yehudah about levirate marriage. [The people of] Israel about two hundred and forty-eight positive commandments corresponding to the two hundred and forty-eight limbs in a man – each and every limb says to man, “I plead of you to do this commandment with me” – and three hundred and sixty-five negative commandments corresponding to the three hundred and sixty-five days of the solar [year] – and each and every day says to man, “I plead of you not to do this sin on me.” “Grace is false, beauty is illusory” (Proverbs 31:30) – the grace of Noach was false, as it states (Genesis 6:8), “But Noach found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” Rabbi Levi said, “Only in his generation [did he find grace].” “Beauty is illusory” – illusory was the beauty of Adam, the first man. Rabbi Shimon ben Manassia said, “The ball of Adam, the first man’s heel would dim the sun. And do not wonder – it is customary in the world that when a man makes two salver vessels, one for himself and one for his household, which does he make [nicer], is it not his? So [too], Adam, the first man, was created to serve in front of the Holy One, blessed be He; and the sun was created to make light for the creatures. And if the ball of his heel was such, the contour of his face, all the more so.” “A woman that has fear of the Lord, she is to be praised” – this is Moshe. “Give of the fruit of her hand” (Proverbs 31:30) – Rabbi Yose bar Yirmiyah said, “Why did he compare the prophets to women? Rather, just like [a] woman is not embarrassed to claim the needs of the home from her husband, so [too] were the prophets not embarrassed to claim the needs of Israel from in front of the Holy One, blessed be He.” The Holy One blessed be He said, “My sons, be involved in Torah [study] day and night, and I will count it for you as if you hold up the heavens and the earth,” as it states (Joshua 1:8), “Let not this book of the Torah cease from your mouth, but meditate upon it day and night”; and it states (Joshua 1:9), “Did I not command you, ‘Be strong and resolute; do not be terrified or dismayed’”; and it states (Ezra 3:11), “with praise and thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His kindness upon Israel is forever, and the people raised a great shout with praise to the Lord, for the foundation of the House of the Lord had been laid”; (Proverbs 23:23) “Acquire truth”; (Proverbs 5:17) “They will be yours alone”; (Proverbs 9:9) “Give to a wise man, and he will grow wiser”; (Proverbs 9:11) “For through me your days will increase, and years of life be added.” Another interpretation: “A woman of valor who can find?” – this is [the meaning] of what the verse states (Psalms 92:15), “In old age they still produce fruit, etc.” – corresponding to Avraham and Sarah who were of the same measure concerning charity and acts of kindness; they were a good sign for the world. In this way, He does not prevent proper women from the righteous ones, [but] matches them. As so [too] do we find with the wife of Noach that her actions and his actions were of the same measure – that is why she merited with him and was rescued from the waters of the flood. “Her husband puts his confidence in her” – this is Sarah, our mother, as Avaraham grew rich on her account, as it states (Genesis 12:16), “And he benefited Avraham for her sake.” “She bestows good to him, and not bad” – this is Rivkah, our mother, who bestowed [good] to Yitzchak at the time that Sarah, his mother died. “She seeks wool and flax” – this is Leah, our mother, who received Yaakov with a pleasant countenance, as it is written (Genesis 30:16), “And Yaakov came from the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him and said, ‘You are to sleep with me, for I have hired you, etc.’” Therefore she merited and kings and prophets came from her. “She is like a merchant fleet” – this is Rachel, our mother, who was embarrassed about [her lack of] children every day. Therefore she merited and a son came from her who was similar to a ship that is filled will all the good [found] in the world – so [was it with] Yosef, that the whole world survived from his merit and he supported the world in the years of famine. “She rises while it is still night” – this is Batya, the daughter of Pharaoh. She was a gentile and became a Jewess and they mentioned her name among the proper [women], since she took care of Moshe. Therefore she merited and entered the Garden of Eden in her lifetime. “She sets her mind on a field and acquires it; [she plants a vineyard from the produce of her hand]” – this is Yocheved, that from her came Moshe who is equivalent to all of Israel, which is called a vineyard, as it states (Isaiah 5:7), “For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the House of Israel.” “She girds her loins with strength” – this is Miriam, as before Moshe was born, she said, “In the future, my mother will give birth to the savior of Israel.” Once he was born and the yoke upon them became heavier, her father got up and bopped her on the head. He said to her, “Where is your prophecy?” And he got up and spit in front of her face. And nonetheless, she exerted herself about her prophecy, as it is written (Exodus 2:4), “And his sister stood from a distance…
