Shalom Children of G-d!
Welcome back to Marie Speaks G-d’s Grace Bible Study.

This week’s Jewish terminology word is: zees (pronounced- ZISS)
Now because I am so excited I am going to make everyone wait for the meaning.
Actually let’s see if I can use a poem to help everyone figure out or guess the meaning.
Are you ready?!
Roses are red!
Sometimes green?
No that won’t work.
Here let me try again.
How about a joke?
Knock knock!
zees?
No, that didn’t work either; ok let’s just get into the definition of this weeks word…..because I am not much of a joke teller.
Fun Fact!
I normally laugh too hard at my own jokes before I can even finish telling a joke.
Or,
I say a joke with a straight face (military baring) and just turn it in to something awkward.
ouch, is right.
Ooh I got it I’ll look out a poem and see if everyone can guess the meaning from that poem?!?
Ok, deal that’s what I’ll do.
FYI. The source of the poem will be hyper linked for credit.
Yeah, I should have thought of it before.
Ready?
Set?
Gooooo? I think?
By Joanna Fuchs
If not for you, I wouldn’t know
What true love really meant.
I’d never feel this inner peace;
I couldn’t be content.
If not for you, I’d never have
The pleasures of romance.
I’d miss the bliss, the craziness,
Of love’s sweet, silly dance.
I have to feel your tender touch;
I have to hear your voice;
No other one could take your place;
You’re it; I have no choice.
If not for you, I’d be adrift;
I don’t know what I’d do;
I’d be searching for my other half,
Incomplete, if not for you.
Wasn’t that poem ….sooooo… sweet.
ok, ok, I think I have kept everyone waiting long enough.
This week’s Jewish terminology word is: zees (pronounced- ZISS)
The JPS Dictionary of Jewish Words by Joyce Eisenberg, and Ellen Scolnic, 2001 copyright 1st edition; defines our Jewish terminology word of the week as:
A Yiddish word meaning you may have guessed it… sweet. This word usually refers to a sweet food or dessert. Used in such expression as zeen neshumeleh (a gentle soul) and a “have a zeesen Pesach” (have a sweet Passover)
“how beautiful our portion..how pleasant our lot”
Isn’t this such a wonderful start to our week?
I do Pray everyone has a zeesen week filled with all the zeesen blessing that only our Father (Blessed be His Holy name) in Heaven can bring.
What can I say … I tried. hahahahaha! I am cheesy… maybe I should try and look up cheesy for next week?!? What poem could I use for that one? hhmmmm?
