What to expect this lesson?
This lesson we will continue in Moses’ of Blessed memory speech to the Nation of Israel before His death and the Nation of Israel carrying on to the Promise Land. In Devarim chapter 5, Moses review in fine detail the ten commandments to the new young and now grown older generation. In Devarim chapter 6 Moses stresses the importance once again.. again.. again, the importance of adhering to the Commandments, Laws, Ordinances, and Principals of the L-rd, especially once in the Land of Israel.
Shema Meaning
(article hyper linked for credit)
The first verse of the Shema is considered the most essential declaration of the Jewish faith — the Lord is our G-d, the Lord is one. The passage that follows details the particular ways in which that faith should be lived: Love G-d with all of your being, teach it to your children, recite it when you wake and lie down, bind it as a symbol on your body.
The second section specifies what will happen if G-d’s commands are heeded — and if they are not. Submission to G-d’s command will result in rain in its proper season, gathering of grain, wine and oil, grass in the fields for cattle, and abundant food. But if G-d’s will is flouted and foreign gods are worshipped, none of those blessings will come. Blessings will not come, but curses for disobedience and betrayal to ones creator will.
Definition of disobedience-
noun
Refusal or failure to obey.
The fact of being disobedient; lack of obedience; neglect or refusal to obey; violation of a command, injunction, or prohibition; the omission of that which is commanded to be done, or the doing of that which is forbidden; disregard of duty prescribed by authority.
Non-compliance, as with a natural law; failure to submit to a superior influence.
To ensure that these commandments are remembered, the final section concerns the biblical commandment of tzitzit, the ritual fringes that serve as a reminder of G-d’s presence and which are worn by many Orthodox men at all times.

In my opinion, The Shema and the Amidah are my favorite Prayers and Declarations of Faith. I don’t believe we have gone over the Amidah in the Bible Study before, so a hyper link is provided for those who are interested in learning from a Jewish source.

Portion of a Portion:
For the Portion of a Portion Deuteronomy (Vaetchanan) began at Devarim ch 3 verse 23 and will run thru Devarim chapater 7 verse 11. We will continue to increase in our intro Hebrew vocabulary, intro Hebrew terminology, Tanakh (the actual ….Jewish Bible) introduction, and Torah Spiritual Teaching. I have added to the Blog news letter the Blessings Before and after reading the Torah.
Today we are going to go over our Jewish terminology for the week. This weeks word is Tanakh! Yaaaaaah!
Tanakh is an acronym for the three books that make up the cornerstone of the Jewish beliefs. The Law or Torah, the Prophets or Neviim, and the Hagiographa or Ketuvim.
Torah equals the Books Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
The Nevi’im contains the 21 books of Prophets, from which come the haftarot.
Nevi’im – (Prophets) presents Israel’s history as a nation on its land. The Israelites conquer and settle; they are beset by local enemies and eventually by imperial powers. Political and prophetic leaders vie for hearts; the supporters of God’s covenant do battle against the paganism of neighboring groups and among the Israelites themselves. A kingdom, a capital, and a Temple are built and eventually destroyed. At the end of Nevi’im, prophets who experienced the exile teach a renewed monotheism to a chastened Israel.
The Haftarah:(Heb. הַפְטָרָה) is a selection from the Prophets read after the reading from the Torah on Sabbaths, festivals, and fast days. On Sabbaths and festivals it is read during the morning service, on fast days at the Minchah service only (with the exception of the Day of Atonement and the Ninth of Av when there is a haftarah after the Torah reading in both the morning and the afternoon service). There is, however, evidence that during the talmudic period a haftarah was read at Minhah on Sabbaths and in some places the custom continued until the end of the geonic period, but it is unknown today.
The Kethuvim, or Writing, includes Proverbs, Psalms, historical accountant, and the five scrolls, or megillot.
Ketuvim – the name of the third section of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), means simply “Writings”, which hardly does justice to the variety of religious expression found there. There is poetry — of Temple ritual, private prayer, wisdom, national tragedy, even love. There is philosophical exploration–of the wisest path in life, of God’s goodness and justice. There are historical retellings and short stories. Ketuvim might better be translated as “the anthology,” the canonical collection from the post-prophetic age.
Megillot- The “five rolls” ()—Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther. At the time of the formation of the canon of the Hagiographa these five books were not regarded as a unit, nor is the name “Megillah” as applied to them collectively found either in the Talmud or in the Midrash.
For the past couple of Shabbats during my personal study time…. I have really felt the leading from are Merciful Father who is in Heaven, to begin reading the books of the Prophets. The last two Shabbats I have read specifically the book of Isaiah.
I’ve noticed there are so many differences between the book of Isaiah of the Tanakh and the book of Isaiah that is in a Rome 325 Bible. These differences have brought me to belief and know that the Rome 325 Bible has been greatly misinterpreted.
I encourage others if one wishes….. to search these matters out and possibly to see the major contradictions or mistranslations of the Rome 325 Bible for themselves. Almost like a word search project! hahahaha! I am so getting good at these jokes.
Thank you! Thank you!
But seriously and sincerely, I pray others enjoy the research time and enjoy their time with HaShem and just deepen their relationship with Him every Shabbat. I always love to ask our Father in Heaven for clarity and His divine insight during my study time with Him and His Glorious Word.

Blessings of the Torah:
Before we begin the Study of the Torah a Blessing is done. In saying the Blessing we are for filling a mitzvah and Blessing HaShem of Glory and Truth’s beautiful Torah. A Mitzvah is defined basically as:
- A commandment of the Jewish law.
- The fulfillment of such a commandment.
- A worthy deed.
I say these Blessings every morning during my morning prayers. And to ensure I am not leading others into to improper practices, I want to ensure I repeat the Blessings of HaShem Our Merciful Father’s Torah just incase others may not have yet had a chance today.
Blessings of the Torah:
Blessed are You, HaShem our God, King of the Universe, Who sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to be engrossed in the words of Torah.
HaShem our God, please make the words of Your Torah pleasant in our mouths and in the mouths of Your people Israel. And may we and our descendants [and the descendants of our descendants] and the descendants of Your people the House of Israel, all know Your Name and be students of Your Torah for its own sake. Blessed are You, HaShem Who teaches Torah to His people, Israel.
Blessed are You, HaShem our God, King of the Universe Who chose us from among all the peoples and gave us His Torah. Blessed are You, HaShem, Giver of the Torah!
Blessing before the reading of the Torah
Bor’chu es ado-noy ha-m’voroch.
Bless the L-rd who is blessed.
Congregation and Oleh say:
Boruch ado-noy ha-m’voroch l’olom vo-ed.
Blessed be the L-rd who is blessed for all eternity.
Oleh continues:
Boruch atoh ado-noy elo-haynu melech ho-olom, asher bochar bonu mikol ha-amim, v’nosan lonu es toroso. Boruch atoh ado-noy, nosayn ha-toroh.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G‑d, King of the universe, who has chosen us from among all the nations and given us His Torah. Blessed are You L-rd, who gives the Torah.
Let us begin with today’s lesson!

Tanakh
Devarim (Vaetchanan)
Chapter 6 verses 1 thru 3
- This is the mitzvah, the statutes and the laws that Adonoy, your God, commanded to teach you to fulfill in the land that you are crossing over there to inherit.
- In order that you will fear [before] Adonoy, your God, to preserve all His statutes and commandments that I am commanding you—you and your son and your grandson—all the days of your life, and in order that you live long.
Commentary:
Verses 1 through 2: The condition for being rewarded a long life for you and your descendants……. is following the commandments of HaShem, The Blessed One. Some religions teach that one will simply be Blessed from G-D for believe alone. Well, that bogus claim falls completely flat when one actually reads and studies the text. These is no something for nothing with HaShem. In every contract or covenant or agreement, there are conditions. Well, same here with Blessings from HaShem. If one wants Blessings and a long life for them and their families….one has to do more than simply believe….one has to be an active participate and show the love and understanding, by living out the Commands, Guidances, and Procedures…. of HaShem and no others.
For Israel- Certain Laws are for certain locations and persons in the covenant of HaShem. But, the whole Law is from HaShem and no others. If one is a Noahide, the land could be anywhere in the world the same with the righteous.
The next question is how would one who is a Noahide or righteous?
How would one know which is the land of their ancestors?
Well, ask G-d……
Or a Kohenim could question Urim and Thummim.
Or perhaps when the 3rd temple is rebuilt … we’ll all know and be assigned land lots?!?
So I guess the next question would be…. what are we to do in the meantime?
I believe wherever Almighty G-d has planted us, either temporary are permanent; we are called and supposed to do great works and accomplish whatever mission He has tasked us.
So obviously with this belief in mind, I always ask G-d and G-d alone any question that I have; than I wait on his guiding.
Ever since I have done are been doing this asking and waiting for His guidance, I have far less worries and woes in my life. Leaning on His guidance alone, has given me more peace and calm in almost every situation.
Sometimes, others may not understand why I’m not moving forward with a situation or why I have chosen to remove myself from situations, or just why actively being patient may be best at times.
It does take in my opinion, a strong focus and character to be able to rule out others unwanted input or … let’s be honest founded opinions about our life or relationship with G-d, but that is just what we sometimes have to do.
Others not being able to understand.. is quite simply is not our problem.
Sometimes, others may not understand that we are on a mission from The Great I AM.
Sometimes, others may not understand why we are not moving forward.
Sometimes, others may not understand how we are being calm during the storm.
The truth is when one relays… on HaShem….. they have peace and a calm and an understanding.. that any situation is necessary not only for us, but others Greater Good.
In fact, the Psalms, chant and sing of this very belief.
Having this trust in receiving the guidance directly from HaShem…. is not something that that is built-in a night.(normally) It is something that takes place over a lengthy relationship with Him. It is a process so to speak. Much like school years and on the job training.
I encourage others if one is looking to increase with their relationship with HaShem and being able to discern whether it is His guidance or their own mind or someone else’s input that they are following: that they just gain in their relationship with them read His Torah daily , and His Tanakh, daily learn HaShem’s voice learn. Learn the rhythm of HaShem’s voice. And then ask questions to build a relationship with Him. Once someone builds their relationship with him… I say ask HaShem, for little exercises to help teach you how to follow His instruction.
These exercises might include: what should I wear today? What should I eat today Father? Where should I go for my walk or run? What music should I listen to while driving today? What Tehillim or Proverb would you like me to read out to you today my L-rd? Or today what book of the Prophet (Nevi’im) should I learn from this Shabbat Father? I think I have made the point… asking our Father for guidance is in little, but not so little way to help us learn His voice and learn the weight of His Spirit upon us.
Once, we learn the weight of G-d’s spirit being upon us we can then ask His guidance for greater things. For example: Where should I buy a home? Who should be my spouse and the father or mother of my children? What job should I take or not take? What business venture should I engage in and not engage?
I suggest only asking momental life leadings after engaging with the smaller exercises with our Father in Heaven for at least one year. I also suggest while learning to lean on HaShem’s voice and His Spirit alone………not making any huge life changes changes or alterations. And don’t be like balaam.. if G-D says no…it’s no.
Continuing on to the next Bible verse:
3. You will heed, Yisroel, and you will be careful to fulfill, so that you will benefit and so that you will multiply exceedingly, as Adonoy, God of your forefathers, spoke about you—a land flowing milk and honey.
4. Listen, Yisroel! Adonoy is our God, Adonoy is one.
Commentary:
Next verse:
5 You are to love Adonoy, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your possessions.
6.And these words that I command you today shall be upon your heart.
7.You are to teach them to your children and you are to discuss them, when you sit at home, and when you journey on the road, and when you go to sleep, and when you rise.
8. You are to tie them as a sign on your arm and they are to be totafos [tefillin] between your eyes.
9 You are to write them on the doorposts [and affix them to the lintels] of your house, and on your gateposts.
10 When Adonoy your God will have brought you to the land that He swore to your forefathers—to Avrohom, to Yitzchok, and to Yaakov—to give you: great and good cities that you did not build.
Commentary: “tell the children”
Passing on our heritage it part of our assignment in this life. One children might be from the body or from the heart. Ones children might be our students in class or players on the team we coach. If one is appointed over the young or inexperience of any degree we have a duty to teach them of Torah and G-d.
Telling the children the truth. Being a slave to sin only distances us from HaShem’s Love and Protection is a favorable act. Showing them that obedience and faithfulness to Torah…. brings us close G-d, is a reward that not many can truly understand. Wherever G-D, has planted us temporarily or permanent…. we are meant to be to accomplish His mission for His Glory.
This means while we are there.. where ever there may be…. we will draw others closer to Him if we are hearkening onto His voice. This is another reason why learning to listen to HaShem and follow the leading of His Spirit is so very important. By us being disciplined, we can help improve and heal the lands, as well as G-D’s people; by leading them to Him and Torah.
But, if we are in a location that He has sent us and we do not do His will….. we are unfortunately drawing a cup liken to the cup that Jonah drew.
Next Verse:
11 And houses full of all bounty that you did not fill, and hewn cisterns that you did not hew, vineyards and olive stands that you did not plant; and you will eat and be full.
12 Look out for yourself, lest you forget Adonoy, Who took you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery.
13 Fear Adonoy, your God, and serve [before] Him, and swear by His name.
14 Do not follow other gods [idols of the nations], from the gods [idols] of the peoples around you.
15 For a jealous Almighty is Adonoy, your God, [His Shechinah is] within you; lest there be aroused the anger of Adonoy, your God, against you and He destroy you from upon the surface of the land.
16 Do not test Adonoy, your God, as you tested at Massoh.
How was G-d tested at Massoh?
The entire community of B’nei Yisrael journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, traveling according to the word of Adonoy. They camped in Rephidim, and there was no water for the people to drink.
The people quarreled with Moshe, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moshe said to them, “Why are you quarreling with me? Why are you testing [before] Adonoy?”
The people were suffering thirst for [the lack of] water, and the people complained against Moshe and said, “Why did you bring us up from Egypt—to kill me and my children, and my livestock with thirst?”
Moshe cried out to [prayed before] Adonoy saying,
“What shall I do for this people? Before long they will stone me.”
Adonoy said to Moshe, “Pass to the front of the people and take with you the elders of the [B’nei] Yisrael. The staff with which you struck the river; take in to your hand, and go.
Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Choreiv. You shall strike the rock and water will come out of it, and the people [will be able] to drink.
Moshe did this in the sight [presence] of the elders of the [B’nei] Yisrael.
He [Moshe] named the place Massah and Merivah because the B’nei Yisrael had quarreled [Merivah] and because they had tested [Massah] [before] Adonoy, saying,
“Is [the Shechina of] Adonoy among us or not?”
Amaleik came and fought [a war] with [B’nei] Yisrael in Rephidim.
verses:
17 Carefully guard the commandments of Adonoy, your God, and His testimonies and His statutes that He commanded you.
18 Perform the upright and the good [correct] in Adonoy’s eyes, in order that you benefit and arrive in, and inherit the good land that Adonoy swore to your forefathers.
19 To smash [break] all your enemies before you, as Adonoy declared.
20 When your son asks you tomorrow, saying, ‘‘What are the testimonies and the statues and the laws that Adonoy, our God, commanded you?’’
Commentary:
verse 20 What are the testimonies and the statues and the laws that Adonoy, our God, commanded you?’’
Here in this verse we have another confirmation of the order from HaShem that it is our duty as parents, teachers, and caregivers to teach the young and inexperienced of Torah and HaShem. We adults , are given children temporarily what here on Earth. HaShem has tasksed ua with teaching our children His ways, especially the Torah. The world wants to say different. The world wants to say that our children’s religion, or our children’s way of life, or our children’s gender ……. even should be their choice.
hmmmmmm. no.
That unguided thought and abandonment “parenting” is completely not in agreement with what Torah teaches, nor what the Torah commands.
And as children of the only living G-d, we are to hearken onto His voice only. As I explained before and is written in His Torah; if we want ourselves to be Blessed, are children to be Blessed, and our grandchildren, and so on generations to be blessed; we have to do our part.
We can not afford to be inactive or afraid; No.
We should just want them Blessed with prosperity and wealth; no. But , Bless with health, sound, mind, productive healthy relationships, good G-Dly occupations, fruitful choices, fruitful lands and so on. Others looking pleasantly upon them and treating them with favor because they are wholesome upstanding examples of productive members of society.
All of these examples are showing stats our children and our children’s children will gain merits from us living a righteous life here and now….for the Glory of HaShem only!
verses:
21 You will tell your son, ‘‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Adonoy took us out of Egypt with a strong hand.
22 And Adonoy set signs and wonders [that were] great and harmful, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon his entire household as we watched.
23 And us He took out of there, in order to bring us into, and to give us the land He swore to our forefathers.
24 Adonoy commanded us to perform all these statutes to [show that we] fear Adonoy, our God; to benefit us for all time, to keep us alive like this day.
25 And it will be to our credit [merit] if we are careful to fulfill this entire mitzvah before Adonoy, our God, as He commanded us.
Define merits:
Plural form of merit
noun
Superior quality or worth; excellence.
A quality deserving praise or approval; virtue.
Demonstrated ability or achievement.
In-conclusion,
I am left with the same thoughts that I have had since Season 1.
Everyone has a choice… and everything has a choice.
Accept the Torah, turn from evil and do good, or even chose this day whom one shall serve.
In any case…. some will chose the Life in Torah with HaShem. and… sadly some will chose the sword.
OAmein and OAmein

And HaShem our G-D spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
“The L-d bless you and keep you;
The L-d make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The L-d lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’

For those that are new to this Bible Study.
Welcome, the following is a brief review of this Bible Study.
1. This BLOG post will have the resources and sources links for the Season 5 Bible Studies .
2. All Books used and Readings from during Live Bible Study can be found on Our
Website: Marie Speaks GOD’s Grace. Live in the Season 5 portion of the website.
3. After Live Bible Studies have completed: I will upload to Rumble, and post link in this BLOG.
How we conduct Bible Studies here:
We believe in One and Only One G-D. HaShem; The G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
We do not and will not Pray in any others name or Praise any other, but HaShem.
Exodus chapter 20: 2-14.
God spoke all these words, saying:
I the LORD am your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, the house of bondage:
You shall have no other gods besides Me.
You shall not make for yourself a sculptured image, or any likeness of what is in the heavens above, or on the earth below, or in the waters under the earth.
You shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I the LORD your God am an impassioned God, visiting the guilt of the parents upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generations of those who reject Me,
but showing kindness to the thousandth generation of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
We believe G-D has called each of us to search matters out.
(It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
And the glory of a king to plumb a matter.
Like the heavens in their height, like the earth in its depth, Is the mind of kings—unfathomable.. Proverbs 25:2 -3)
This is one reason why here at Marie Speaks G-D’s Grace Bible Study, we review several historical references and resources, of which we provide links and or screen shots for others to study at their leisure.
We have been directed by G-D Wonderful and Almighty, to go Book by Book, Verse by Verse; sharing HIS Torah and Tanakh.
We believe as directed by G-D Our Heavenly Father, learning and growing in Torah and Tanakh leads to understanding and wisdom; this shall only be achieved in reading, studying, and sharing HIS Word for ourselves; not relying on man.
Learning, growing, and studying with OUR L-D is to be done with others that are like minded, but more so during our personal time.
The BLOGs are written to assist those just beginning to study the BIBLE as a starting point. The Live or recorded Bible Studies are to cover and release opportunities and guidance, but ultimately is ones own personal responsibility to rule, govern, and be purposeful in their relationship with G-D.
The effect of humility is fear of the LORD,
Wealth, honor, and life.
Thorns and snares are in the path of the crooked;
He who values his life will keep far from them.
Train a lad in the way he ought to go;
He will not swerve from it even in old age.
The person who sins, he alone shall die. A child shall not share the burden of a parent’s guilt, nor shall a parent share the burden of a child’s guilt; the righteousness of the righteous shall be accounted to him alone, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be accounted to him alone.
Moreover, if the wicked one repents of all the sins that he committed and keeps all My laws and does what is just and right, he shall live; he shall not die.
None of the transgressions he committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness he has practiced, he shall live.
Is it my desire that a wicked person shall die?—says the L-d G-D. It is rather that he shall turn back from his ways and live.
May HaShem, Blessed be He continue to Bless us all and may we all be forever written in the Book of Life.
O’Amein and O’Amein
