What to expect this lesson?
This lesson we will continue in Moses’ of Blessed memory speech to the Nation of Israel before His death and them carrying on to the Promise Land.
For the Portion of a Portion Deuteronomy (Vaetchanan) began at Devarim ch 3 verse 23 and will run thru Devarim chapater 7 verse 11. We will continue to increase in our intro Hebrew vocabulary, intro Hebrew terminology, Tanakh (the actual ….Jewish Bible) introduction, and Torah Spiritual Teaching. I have added to the Blog news letter the Blessings Before and after reading the Torah.
This Jewish terminology Word of the week:
piyyut (peeyoot) or piyyutim (peeyooteem)

Here is this week’s Jewish terminology word and definition as define by The JPS Dictionary of Jewish Words by Joyce Eisenberg and Ellen Scolnic 2001 copyright 1st edition.
I’m not paid to endorse nor affiliated. This book is from my personal library. I purchased this book from
Thriftbooks.com… you can get your own personal low price copy using the hyperlink in this blog.
Definition :
Jewish Religious Poem distinguished by its form rhyme, rhythm, and sometimes acrostic letters.
Medieval poets wrote these long carefully crafted verses for festivals and special occasions.
We have such piyyutim, written for our Shabbat and High Holidays within our (Machzorim)
Machzor (singular) or Machzorim (plural) is defined as
The Machzor is the prayer book which is used by religious Jews on the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Many religious Jews also make use of specialized Machzorim on the three pilgrimage festivals of Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot. The Machzor is a specialized form of the Siddur, which is generally intended for use in weekday and Shabbat services).
Another, wonderful gift from our Merciful Father is Prayer (complete communication body, mind, spirit, and soul) with Him.
I absolutely, love opening my Siddur (Jewish Prayer) book and spending personal time with my Heavenly Father and Creator HaShem.
Recently, I have felt a longing to research the history of our Prayers and the Writers of our Prayers. Our Sages and Rabbis of Blessed memory, have left us, in my opinion such a beautiful long lasting heritage. This heritage has been passed down in poetic song, prayer, worship, and praise to our Creator… this is another gift for and to and from our nation to the world.
United in wonderful song and poetic praise….. we sing to our King in recognition and acknowledgement of His and His alone sovereignty over the entire universe and all His creations.
I Pray each of us take moments through the day from now and unto forever, to thank HaShem Blessed be He, with traditional piyyutim or maybe even a personal piyyut, song from their G-D loving heart.
#thankyouHaShem

Blessings of the Torah:
Before we begin the Study of the Torah a Blessing is done. In saying the Blessing we are for filling a mitzvah and Blessing HaShem of Glory and Truth’s beautiful Torah. A Mitzvah is defined basically as:
- A commandment of the Jewish law.
- The fulfillment of such a commandment.
- A worthy deed.
I say these Blessings every morning during my morning prayers. And to ensure I am not leading others into to improper practices, I want to ensure I repeat the Blessings of HaShem Our Merciful Father’s Torah just incase others may not have yet had a chance today.
Blessings of the Torah:
Blessed are You, HaShem our God, King of the Universe, Who sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to be engrossed in the words of Torah.
HaShem our God, please make the words of Your Torah pleasant in our mouths and in the mouths of Your people Israel. And may we and our descendants [and the descendants of our descendants] and the descendants of Your people the House of Israel, all know Your Name and be students of Your Torah for its own sake. Blessed are You, HaShem Who teaches Torah to His people, Israel.
Blessed are You, HaShem our God, King of the Universe Who chose us from among all the peoples and gave us His Torah. Blessed are You, HaShem, Giver of the Torah!
Blessing before the reading of the Torah
Bor’chu es ado-noy ha-m’voroch.
Bless the L-rd who is blessed.
Congregation and Oleh say:
Boruch ado-noy ha-m’voroch l’olom vo-ed.
Blessed be the L-rd who is blessed for all eternity.
Oleh continues:
Boruch atoh ado-noy elo-haynu melech ho-olom, asher bochar bonu mikol ha-amim, v’nosan lonu es toroso. Boruch atoh ado-noy, nosayn ha-toroh.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G‑d, King of the universe, who has chosen us from among all the nations and given us His Torah. Blessed are You L-rd, who gives the Torah.
Let us begin with today’s lesson!

2. Biblical Text Portion of Bible Study.Tanakh Devarim (Vaetchanan)
chapter 4 verses 1 thru 4
And now, O Israel, give heed to the laws and rules that I am instructing you to observe, so that you may live to enter and occupy the land that יהוה, the God of your fathers, is giving you.
You shall not add anything to what I command you or take anything away from it, but keep the commandments of your God יהוה that I enjoin upon you.
You saw with your own eyes what יהוה did in the matter of Baal-peor, that your God יהוה wiped out from among you every person who followed Baal-peor;
while you, who held fast to your God יהוה, are all alive today.
Commentary:
When I read the above verses I am focused on a couple of points I believe many often over look:
This chapter is starting off with a bang…so to speak. When Moses states: “so that you may live and you will come and posses the land that HaShem the G-D of you fathers…gives to you.”
- We hear clearly who is the source; HaShem.
- We hear, what is (are) the conditions and how to achieve a positive result of said conditions.
- We hear clearly possible consequences as to not keeping the prescribed orders.
Next focused point:
“So that you may” clearly states a conditional Blessing and Provision and Heritage….regarding of land ownership upon completion and maintenance of the all said and mutually agreed upon conditions (Laws, ordinances, and decrees).
Upon listening to the ordinances and decrees that our Blessed teacher Moses taught us of HaShem our Creator and King; Laws. Many conditional Blessings shall come and be given to each member, family, and tribe of the Nation of Israel.
These said ordinances and decrees are given further guidance from our great Sages and Rabbis still today. These ordinances and decrees and fine details of how to accurately conduct and carry out the Laws of HaShem, in every aspect of our daily waking and sleeping life are taught annually, daily, and even celebrated during Biblical Feast or Festivals or Observances of Remembrances.
These details though now written down is referred to as the Oral Law or Talmud (Mishnah and Gemara). We have briefly discuss these wonderful books of guidance before. No, I am not an expert so please so review the sources first hand, but as I understand it there are two Talmuds. one of Jerusalem and one of Babylon. At some point in time the two Talmuds became one and this is what we have today. The (Mishnah and Gemara) are books of discussion between Sages and Jewish Religious Leaders that has spanned thousands of years. These wonderful writings are another glorious part of our Jewish Heritage and many agree these writing have greatly assisted the preservation of our Jewish Heritage both religiously and culturally.
I personally love reading the witty banter and stories and legends that are in the books, but that is it just me. And no… I have not read the complete set. It is said it would take a person reading one page a day every day ….. seven years to complete reading the entire Talmud. That is just reading it..imagine studying it?! So … I am working on it…laugh out loud….. as they say.
Verse 3: You saw with your own eyes what יהוה did in the matter of Baal-peor, that your God יהוה wiped out from among you every person who followed Baal-peor; commentary:
Those who have or had witnessed G-D’s power, majesty, and might; are held to a higher standard of accountability. Those persons and nations face greater consequences for transgressing G-D’s Laws and ordinances. Far, greater punishments then of nations or persons, who have never known Him or been exposed to the Truth and Teaching of the Holy Torah.
Those who were shown, lead towards, or even taught the Torah and rejected it, fall under the category of judgement similar to those nations that had rejected the Torah and denied HaShem full of Glory just in Biblical times.
That is not to say a person doesn’t have a chance at redemption after proper heart felt Teshuvah, or Repentance, of sins and sinful living…but as explained before everything is up to a persons individual free will / use of intentions. We are all in control and held accountable at some point of our acceptance or rejection of HaShem and His Torah.
What or who was baal-peor?
Name of a Canaanitish god. Peor was a mountain in Moab (Num. xxiii. 28), whence the special locality Beth-peor (Deut. iii. 29, etc.) was designated. It gave its name to the Ba’al who was there worshiped, and to whose service Israel, before the entrance into Canaan, was, for a brief time, attracted (Num. xxv. 3, 5; Ps. cvi. 28). The god is himself also called “Peor” by abbreviation (Num. xxxi. 16; Josh. xxii. 17). It is commonly held that this form of Ba’al-worship especially called for sensual indulgence. The context seems to favor his view, on account of the shameful licentiousness into which many of the Israelites were there enticed. But all Ba’al-worship encouraged this sin; and Peor may not have been worse than many other shrines in this respect, though the evil there was certainly flagrant. In Hosea ix. 10 “Baal-peor” is the same as “Beth-peor,” and is contracted from “Beth-baal-peor.” (Credit: Jewish encyclopedia.com hyper linked)
Only be aware of yourself:
Only beware of yourself the Tefillin of Torah or which merciful HaShem are Creator, has place as a seal upon our hearts, hands, and between our eyes. We echo the receipt of such seal when the men willing place the Tefillin while in Prayer. Women also echo this receipt of seal when every time we engage in Prayer. This is willful, intentional, and all free will.
Some man-made religions put responsibility and accountability, as I have said before on everyone else or everything else, but themselves. #wokism But, here with these words “only beware of yourself”. “Greatly beware for your soul please you who you forget.” “The things your eyes have beheld”;
witness, taken, and experienced, meditated on, wondered, about prayed for….. and so much more. These things we personally have experience , not anything second hand or third hand or third party but we are self-have witness.
This also means don’t let anyone try convince you or explain away…. The miracles and wonders or HaShem the One True Living G-D works……that what you have seen or witness did not really take place.
Oftentimes, non-believers or non-covenant keepers; try to sway us away and label what we have experienced personally and witness from The Great I am; as fantasy or superstition or folklore.
Sadly, so many disbelievers are bitter with hatred of anyone else who has joy or miracles directly from our Father who is in Heaven. HaShem, wants each of us (those who were at Mount Sinai) to remember us being sent here with free from Egypt and to choose Torah once again.
The True Corner Stone: Torah!
First, the two sapphire tablets written by G-D’s hand.
Then two stone tablets were written by Moses hand directed by G-D.
So there are actually four tablets of Law. Yes, two were broken, but placed where?
Are these the cornerstones? The True cornerstones that will raise up? that hold up the nation of Israel what has the nation of Israel been built on Torah other men made religions claim different but in truth there are four sets of tablets each within the Temple, that hold up the nation of Israel and what it was real time the Torah is the truth cornerstone.
Tehillim 118 verses 19 thru 24
Open the gates of victoryOr “righteousness.” for me
that I may enter them and praise the LORD.
This is the gateway to the LORD—
the victoriousOr “righteous.” shall enter through it.
I praise You, for You have answered me,
and have become my deliverance.
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone.
This is the LORD’s doing;
it is marvelous in our sight.
This is the day that the LORD has made—
let us exult and rejoice on it.
Commentary:
I believe this Psalm is referencing G-D setting Israel free from Egypt, crossing Sea of Reeds, receiving the Torah, rejecting the Torah (golden calf), Receiving the Torah again, and rejoicing.
The Chief Cornerstone that the builders made…. Torah!
In the land: verse 14 At the same time יהוה commanded me to impart to you laws and rules for you to observe in the land that you are about to cross into and occupy.
- Certain laws are only for when in the land of Israel.
- Certain laws are only for the Kohanim and the Levites.
- Certain laws are directly for only men or directly for only women, and some for children.
What is your point Marie?
I’m glad you asked.
The point is there are certain laws upon laws; yes, but not every law applies to every member of the nation of Israel except the 10 laws, which are applicable to all those who are on this Earth.
Outside, of Israel the average religious Jew has about 215ish Laws that are prescribed according to Torah. A Rabbi, and there are many profession in this honorable and G-D fearing calling; has outside of Israel about 450ish Laws prescribed by Torah. But, once in Israel and when the third Temple is rebuilt……. 613 Commandments it is! May it be soon in our days!
Second: verses 5 thru 40
See, I have imparted to you laws and rules, as my God יהוה has commanded me, for you to abide by in the land that you are about to enter and occupy.
Observe them faithfully, for that will be proof of your wisdom and discernment to other peoples, who on hearing of all these laws will say, “Surely, that great nation is a wise and discerning people.”
For what great nation is there that has a god so close at hand as is our God יהוה whenever we call?
Or what great nation has laws and rules as perfect as all this Teaching that I set before you this day?
But take utmost care and watch yourselves scrupulously, so that you do not forget the things that you saw with your own eyes and so that they do not fade from your mind as long as you live. And make them known to your children and to your children’s children:
The day you stood before your God יהוה at Horeb, when יהוה said to me, “Gather the people to Me that I may let them hear My words, in order that they may learn to revere Me as long as they live on earth, and may so teach their children.”
You came forward and stood at the foot of the mountain. The mountain was ablaze with flames to the very skies, dark with densest clouds.
יהוה spoke to you out of the fire; you heard the sound of words but perceived no shape—nothing but a voice.
[God] declared to you the covenant that you were commanded to observe, the Ten Commandments, inscribing them on two tablets of stone.
At the same time יהוה commanded me to impart to you laws and rules for you to observe in the land that you are about to cross into and occupy.
For your own sake, therefore, be most careful—since you saw no shape when יהוה spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire—
not to act wickedly and make for yourselves a sculptured image in any likeness whatever: the form of a man or a woman, the form of any beast on earth, the form of any winged bird that flies in the sky,
the form of anything that creeps on the ground, the form of any fish that is in the waters below the earth.—
And when you look up to the sky and behold the sun and the moon and the stars, the whole heavenly host, you must not be lured into bowing down to them or serving them. These your God יהוה allotted to other peoples everywhere under heaven;
but you יהוה took and brought out of Egypt, that iron blast furnace, to be God’s very own people, as is now the case.
Commentary: Versus 15 through 20 Mocking images are forbidden? Why are they allowed to exist at all today?.
Many scholars suggest HaShem Blessed be He, allows people to worship creation, or idols, and other items because they are truly trying to worship Him because He is the creator. Others suggest, that allowances provided to allow us free will that we have the choice for greater rewards or even a list of rewards when we return of free will to our first love our Creator.
Now יהוה was angry with me on your account and swore that I should not cross the Jordan and enter the good land that your God יהוה is assigning you as a heritage.
For I must die in this land; I shall not cross the Jordan. But you will cross and take possession of that good land.
Take care, then, not to forget the covenant that your God יהוה concluded with you, and not to make for yourselves a sculptured image in any likeness, against which your God יהוה has enjoined you.
For your God יהוה is a consuming fire, an impassioned God.
When you have begotten children and children’s children and are long established in the land, should you act wickedly and make for yourselves a sculptured image in any likeness, causing your God יהוה displeasure and vexation,
I call heaven and earth this day to witness against you that you shall soon perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess; you shall not long endure in it, but shall be utterly wiped out.
יהוה will scatter you among the peoples, and only a scant few of you shall be left among the nations to which יהוה will drive you.
There you will serve gods of wood and stone, made by human hands, that cannot see or hear or eat or smell.
But if you search there, you will find your God יהוה, if only you seek with all your heart and soul—
when you are in distress because all these things have befallen you and, in the end, return to and obey your God יהוה.
For your God יהוה is a compassionate God, who will not fail you nor let you perish; [God] will not forget the covenant made on oath with your fathers.
You have but to inquire about bygone ages that came before you, ever since God created humankind on earth, from one end of heaven to the other: has anything as grand as this ever happened, or has its like ever been known?
Has any people heard the voice of a god speaking out of a fire, as you have, and survived?
Or has any deity ventured to go and take one nation from the midst of another by prodigious acts, by signs and portents, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and awesome power, as your God יהוה did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?
It has been clearly demonstrated to you “You have been shown to know.” that יהוה alone is God; there is none else.
From the heavens [God] let you hear the divine voice to discipline you; on earth [God] let you see the great divine fire; and from amidst that fire you heard God’s words.
And having loved your ancestors, [God] chose their heirs after them; [God] personally in great, divine might—led you out of Egypt,
to drive from your path nations greater and more populous than you, to take you into their land and assign it to you as a heritage, as is still the case.
Know therefore this day and keep in mind that יהוה alone is God in heaven above and on earth below; there is no other.
Observe God’s laws and commandments, which I enjoin upon you this day, that it may go well with you and your children after you, and that you may long remain in the land that your God יהוה is assigning to you for all time.
Commentary Verse 24: a jealous G-D.
Certain man-made religions claim that they follow this commandment, but they do not!
You’ll see them opening up a praise and worship, or even a prayer with…. In the name of the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob……..
But, then they end the Prayer or speak in the service about human virgin sacrifice, place a virgin up as a sacrifice to atone for ones sins, eating body parts and drinking blood which is spiritual cannibalism…. Then they close the Prayer in same one else’s name….
That is pagan. That is demonic. That is not based in Torah or Tanakh, but in baalism.
Other religions, go as far as to create fat belly men and worship them, or alters and literally bow or ay down while singing in the language of the dead praying to dead so called saints.
That is pagan. That is demonic. That is not based in Torah or Tanakh, but in baalism.
Praying to the dead, making altars, praying in their name, and celebrating them violates HaSHem Laws!
All Glory and Honor that is rightly due to the only True Living G-D; HaShem!
The G-D of Abraham, the G-D of Isaac, and the G-D of Jacob;
this is our G-D.
Our Great and Mighty Awesome G-D Supreme G-D! One cannot claim to serve G-D of Israel, but then end up their prayer in someone else’s name.
This is idolatry.
For example one will never hear a religious Jew…….. and a prayer with in the name of Elijah in the name of Deborah, or and the name of Jeremiah; No.
One will never hear religious Jew, say thank you Ezra or Nehemiah for the rain. One will never hear you or see in a religious Jew, building an altar and dancing and playing Hillsong music with Torah; Stop!
A religious Jew does not mix Life with death.
Not in food and not in Prayer.
The Torah and Tankh even, even man made religions “bibles” speak against worshiping idols or the dead- ——-so why do so many violate this command?
Is it arrogance?
Is it ignorance?
Is it compliancy?
Culture?
Maybe all of the above among other possibilities… Such as cultural or religion reason my be … It is forbidden by Torah Law. Exodus 20:5.
Through out time all the nations that have seen the Glory, Strength, and Salvation of the Great I AM; and still refuse to give Him and Him alone the Praise Honor and Glory the His Merciful Works…. Have receive justly the harshest judgements set before Egypt.
Several Nations to date show these signs.
Showings and signs of HaShem follow a wondrous yet, basic (for lack of better word) pattern. One reading the book of Exodus… in my opinion can see the pattern of redemption and judgement. One would need only to view or lightly investigate their owns nations patterns of abundance and difficult times in doing so, they might be able to identify whether or not their very own nation is following the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob or baal.
Verse 39 Know therefore this day and keep in mind that יהוה alone is God in heaven above and on earth below; there is no other.:
Certain man made religions state that satan (cursed be he) is the god of this earth……. This is false.
In fact stating such a bogus claim is in effect setting up a spiritual pillar on earth and dedicating it to satan (cursed above all beast)
Why would anyone do such a thing?
Is it arrogance?
Is it ignorance?
Is it compliancy?
Is it culture?
Maybe those false and fake and man made religions are actually death cults?
Or at least they subscribe to the doctrine of death and oppression cults?
Maybe, those death cults of oppress that aim to mislead and dumb down the masses really demonic birth of 325 c.e. ?
Maybe the goal of that meeting was another 1000 year plan of destruction?
Or maybe Paulines and Rome idolatry institution put into cannon a sure fire way to scripturize paganism that would have the individual, families, and therefore nation and governments… praising and raising and engaging in paganism idolatry baal worship, coupled with a slavery generational mindset unknowingly… as an unintentional sin?
Now one might have a question…. Why?
Why would an evil government demonic system want to do such an evil demonic thing?
I believe the answer is obvious:
Infiltration from within.
Control the history, money, education, food, and oppress the people… there is no limit to what an evil demonic group could do. Sounds close to want was going on during Egypt times?
Sound like what’s going on in todays times?
Are you ready for an Exodus?
Me too; watch the water!
Third verses 41 thru 45
Then Moses set aside three cities on the east side of the Jordan
Bezer, in the wilderness in the Tableland, belonging to the Reubenites; Ramoth, in Gilead, belonging to the Gadites; and Golan, in Bashan, belonging to the Manassites.
This is the Teaching that Moses set before the Israelites:
these are the decrees, laws, and rules that Moses addressed to the people of Israel, after they had left Egypt,
beyond the Jordan, in the valley at Beth-peor, in the land of King Sihon of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, whom Moses and the Israelites defeated after they had left Egypt.
They had taken possession of his country and that of King Og of Bashan—the two kings of the Amorites—which were on the east side of the Jordan
from Aroer on the banks of the wadi Arnon, as far as Mount Sion, that is, Hermon;
also the whole Arabah on the east side of the Jordan, as far as the Sea of the Arabah, at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah.
In-conclusion,
I am left with the same thoughts that I have had since Season 1.
Everyone has a choice… and everything has a choice.
Accept the Torah, turn from evil and do good, or even chose this day whom one shall serve.
In any case…. some will chose the Life in Torah with HaShem. and… sadly some will chose the sword.
OAmein and OAmein

How we conduct Bible Studies here:
We believe in One and Only One G-D. HaShem; The G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
We do not and will not Pray in any others name or Praise any other, but HaShem.
Exodus chapter 20: 2-14.
God spoke all these words, saying:
I the LORD am your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, the house of bondage:
You shall have no other gods besides Me.
You shall not make for yourself a sculptured image, or any likeness of what is in the heavens above, or on the earth below, or in the waters under the earth.
You shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I the LORD your God am an impassioned God, visiting the guilt of the parents upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generations of those who reject Me,
but showing kindness to the thousandth generation of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
We believe G-D has called each of us to search matters out.
(It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
And the glory of a king to plumb a matter.
Like the heavens in their height, like the earth in its depth, Is the mind of kings—unfathomable.. Proverbs 25:2 -3)
This is one reason why here at Marie Speaks G-D’s Grace Bible Study, we review several historical references and resources, of which we provide links and or screen shots for others to study at their leisure.
We have been directed by G-D Wonderful and Almighty, to go Book by Book, Verse by Verse; sharing HIS Torah and Tanakh.
We believe as directed by G-D Our Heavenly Father, learning and growing in Torah and Tanakh leads to understanding and wisdom; this shall only be achieved in reading, studying, and sharing HIS Word for ourselves; not relying on man.
Learning, growing, and studying with OUR L-D is to be done with others that are like minded, but more so during our personal time.
The BLOGs are written to assist those just beginning to study the BIBLE as a starting point. The Live or recorded Bible Studies are to cover and release opportunities and guidance, but ultimately is ones own personal responsibility to rule, govern, and be purposeful in their relationship with G-D.
The effect of humility is fear of the LORD,
Wealth, honor, and life.
Thorns and snares are in the path of the crooked;
He who values his life will keep far from them.
Train a lad in the way he ought to go;
He will not swerve from it even in old age.
The person who sins, he alone shall die. A child shall not share the burden of a parent’s guilt, nor shall a parent share the burden of a child’s guilt; the righteousness of the righteous shall be accounted to him alone, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be accounted to him alone.
Moreover, if the wicked one repents of all the sins that he committed and keeps all My laws and does what is just and right, he shall live; he shall not die.
None of the transgressions he committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness he has practiced, he shall live.
Is it my desire that a wicked person shall die?—says the L-d G-D. It is rather that he shall turn back from his ways and live.
May HaShem, Blessed be He continue to Bless us all and may we all be forever written in the Book of Life.
O’Amein and O’Amein
