Link to Live Bible Study :
The live Bible Study will go into to a deeper review and explanation of the Word Our Father in Heave has given to us.
When Season 3 of the Bible Study was coming to a completion, the LORD GOD put in on my heart to read the Books of the 12 Minor Prophets. I read through the Books of the 3 Minor Prophets about 3 or more times.
While, I was reading through the Books I felt GOD telling me to highlight certain verses. Through hight lighting certain verse GOD I believe is answers many questions for us who are perhaps wondering why and when. Or perhaps some of Us are wondering how and searching for refreshment in wisdom or understanding.
The following weeks my assignment from GOD is to create the BLOG selection the highlighted verse and discussing what I believe GOD is revealing. There should be 4 BLOGs for 4 Live Bible Study Word Releases 3 Minor Prophets Chapters each. ( This is BLOG 1 of 4 of 3 Books of 12 Minor Prophets)
(Bible verses retrieved from: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Micah%203&version=NRSV, dateJune 13, 5781, 2021)
The Book of Hosea
The Family of Hosea
ch1: 2 When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, “Go, take for yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the Lord.”
4 And the Lord said to him, “Name him Jezreel;[a] for in a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. 5 On that day I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.”
“You are not my people,” it shall be said to them, “Children of the living God.” 11 The people of Judah and the people of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one head; and they shall take possession of[f] the land, for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
ch2 [a] Say to your brother,[b] Ammi (my kin),[c] and to your sister,[d] Ruhamah(Loved).[e]
7 Then she shall say, “I will go
and return to my first husband(HaShem),
for it was better with me then than now.”
8 She did not know
that it was I who gave her
the grain, the wine, and the oil,
and who lavished upon her silver
and gold that they used for Baal.( This is a great insult. Giving credit to evil gods for the Great Blessings of YAH)
11 I will put an end to all her mirth,
her festivals, her new moons, her sabbaths,
and all her appointed festivals.
13 I will punish her for the festival days of the Baals (pagan demonic celebrations of the word or pagan demonic celebrations celebration vice celebration of the LORD’s Feast),
when she offered incense to them
and decked herself (dressings up fine attire for the pagan demonic holidays) with her ring and jewelry,
and went after her lovers,
and forgot me, says the Lord.
14 Therefore, I will now allure her, (remove her GOD’s nations of people from evil she would not remove herself from)
and bring her into the wilderness, ( trails, temptations, solitudes for a long period of time. Struggles that are rock bottom in hopes this will return them to GOD or cause them to cry out to GOD)
and speak tenderly to her.(leading and guiding by the HOLY GHOST to Repent and turn away from sinful life style and mindset of abominations)
15 From there I will give her her vineyards,
and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope.
There she shall respond as in the days of her youth,
as at the time when she came out of the land of Egypt.( When the nation of People finally Repent and return to GOD and away from evil…. GOD will give Blessings. Everything the LORD says we will do with singing and dancing.)
God Accuses Israel
4 Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel;
for the Lord has an indictment against the inhabitants of the land.
There is no faithfulness or loyalty,
and no knowledge of God in the land.
2 Swearing, lying, and murder,
and stealing and adultery break out;
bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3 Therefore the land mourns,
and all who live in it languish;
together with the wild animals
and the birds of the air,
even the fish of the sea are perishing.
4 Yet let no one contend,
and let none accuse,
for with you is my contention, O priest.[a]
5 You shall stumble by day;
the prophet also shall stumble with you by night,
and I will destroy your mother.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;
because you have rejected knowledge,
I reject you from being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.
7 The more they increased,
the more they sinned against me;
they changed[b] their glory into shame.
8 They feed on the sin of my people;
they are greedy for their iniquity.
9 And it shall be like people, like priest;
I will punish them for their ways,
and repay them for their deeds.
10 They shall eat, but not be satisfied;
they shall play the whore, but not multiply;
because they have forsaken the Lord
to devote themselves to 11 whoredom.
The Idolatry of Israel
Wine and new wine
take away the understanding.
12 My people consult a piece of wood ( *oui boards or tarot cards),
and their divining rod (*witches or witch craft) gives them oracles.
For a spirit of whoredom has led them astray,
and they have played the whore, forsaking their God.
13 They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains,
and make offerings upon the hills,
under oak, poplar, and terebinth,
because their shade is good.
Therefore your daughters play the whore,
and your daughters-in-law commit adultery.
14 I will not punish your daughters when they play the whore,
nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery;
for the men themselves go aside with whores,
and sacrifice with temple prostitutes;
thus a people without understanding comes to ruin.
15 Though you play the whore, O Israel,
do not let Judah become guilty.
Do not enter into Gilgal,
or go up to Beth-aven,
and do not swear, “As the Lord lives.”
16 Like a stubborn heifer,
Israel is stubborn;
can the Lord now feed them
like a lamb in a broad pasture?
17 Ephraim is joined to idols—
let him alone.
18 When their drinking is ended, they indulge in sexual orgies;
they love lewdness more than their glory.[c]
19 A wind has wrapped them[d] in its wings,
and they shall be ashamed because of their altars.[e]
ch 5: 15 I will return again to my place
until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face.
In their distress they will beg my favor:
A Call to Repentance
6 “Come, let us return to the Lord;
for it is he who has torn, and he will heal us;
he has struck down, and he will bind us up.
2 After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will raise us up,
that we may live before him.
3 Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord;
his appearing is as sure as the dawn;
he will come to us like the showers,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”
6 For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice,
the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
The Long History of Rebellion
ch 12:10 I spoke to the prophets;
it was I who multiplied visions,
and through the prophets I will bring destruction.
11 In Gilead[c] there is iniquity,
they shall surely come to nothing.
In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls,
so their altars shall be like stone heaps
on the furrows of the field.
12 Jacob fled to the land of Aram,
there Israel served for a wife,
and for a wife he guarded sheep.[d]
13 By a prophet the Lord brought Israel up from Egypt,
and by a prophet he was guarded.
14 Ephraim has given bitter offense,
so his Lord will bring his crimes down on him
and pay him back for his insults.
Relentless Judgment on Israel
13: 4 Yet I have been the Lord your God
ever since the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior.
5 It was I who fed[b] you in the wilderness,
in the land of drought.
6 When I fed[c] them, they were satisfied;
they were satisfied, and their heart was proud;
therefore they forgot me.
7 So I will become like a lion to them,
like a leopard I will lurk beside the way.
8 I will fall upon them like a bear robbed of her cubs,
and will tear open the covering of their heart;
there I will devour them like a lion,
as a wild animal would mangle them.
Assurance of Forgiveness
4 I will heal their disloyalty;
I will love them freely,
for my anger has turned from them.
5 I will be like the dew to Israel;
he shall blossom like the lily,
he shall strike root like the forests of Lebanon.[b]
9 Those who are wise understand these things;
those who are discerning know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them.
The Book of JOEL
1 The word of the Lord that came to Joel son of Pethuel:
Lament over the Ruin of the Country
ch1: 8 Lament like a virgin dressed in sackcloth
for the husband of her youth.
9 The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off
from the house of the Lord.
The priests mourn,
the ministers of the Lord.
10 The fields are devastated,
the ground mourns;
for the grain is destroyed,
the wine dries up,
the oil fails.
11 Be dismayed, you farmers,
wail, you vinedressers,
over the wheat and the barley;
for the crops of the field are ruined.
12 The vine withers,
the fig tree droops.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple—
all the trees of the field are dried up;
surely, joy withers away
among the people.
A Call to Repentance and Prayer
13 Put on sackcloth and lament, you priests;
wail, you ministers of the altar.
Come, pass the night in sackcloth,
you ministers of my God!
Grain offering and drink offering
are withheld from the house of your God.
ch 2 Blow the trumpet in Zion;
sound the alarm on my holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming, it is near— (Call to REPENT. Rosh Hashanah. Yom Kippur. Day of Atonement.
2. a great and powerful army comes;
6. Before them peoples are in anguish,
all faces grow pale.[a] (green. sick and or ill or diseased)
13 (evil doers. those who openly and secretly rebel against GOD. Those evil ones who work with evil and harm GOD’s people or Nations ) rend your hearts and not your clothing.
God’s Response and Promise
21 Do not fear, O soil;
be glad and rejoice,
for the Lord has done great things!
22 Do not fear, you animals of the field,
for the pastures of the wilderness are green;
the tree bears its fruit,
the fig tree and vine give their full yield.
23 O children of Zion, be glad
and rejoice in the Lord your God;
for he has given the early rain[c] for your vindication,
he has poured down for you abundant rain,
the early and the later rain, as before.
24 The threshing floors shall be full of grain,
the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 I will repay you for the years
that the swarming locust has eaten,
the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter,
my great army, which I sent against you.
26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
and praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has dealt wondrously with you.
And my people shall never again be put to shame.
27 You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel,
and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other.
And my people shall never again be put to shame.
God’s Spirit Poured Out
28 [d] Then afterward
I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
29 Even on the male and female slaves,
in those days, I will pour out my spirit.
ch 3 [a] For then, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat, and I will enter into judgment with them there, on account of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations. They have divided my land, 3 and cast lots for my people, and traded boys for prostitutes, and sold girls for wine, and drunk it down.
4 What are you to me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you paying me back for something? If you are paying me back, I will turn your deeds back upon your own heads swiftly and speedily. 5 For you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried my rich treasures into your temples.[b] 6 You have sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, removing them far from their own border. 7 But now I will rouse them to leave the places to which you have sold them, and I will turn your deeds back upon your own heads. 8 I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far away; for the Lord has spoken.
12 Let the nations rouse themselves,
and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat;( 4th King of the Kingdom Judah)
for there I will sit to judge
all the neighboring nations.
19 Egypt ( witch craft, sorcery, baal worships, necromancy, sexual perversion, pagans iIdolatry *worship of an idol as though it were GOD) shall become a desolation
and Edom a desolate wilderness,
because of the violence done to the people of Judah,(GOD’s Tribes all the grandsons of Jacob/ Israel Asher, Dan, Ephraim, Gad, Issachar, 1/2 Manasseh, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon, Zebulun)
in whose land they have shed innocent blood.
20 But Judah shall be inhabited forever,
and Jerusalem to all generations.
21 I will avenge their blood, and I will not clear the guilty,[e]
for the Lord dwells in Zion.
The Book of AMOS
Judgment on Israel’s Neighbors
ch1: 2 And he said:
The Lord roars from Zion,
and utters his voice from Jerusalem;
the pastures of the shepherds wither,
and the top of Carmel dries up.
3 because they have threshed Gilead
with threshing sledges of iron.
6 to hand them over to Edom.
7 did not remember the covenant of kinship.
10 fire that shall devour its strongholds.
11 because he pursued his brother with the sword
and cast off all pity;
he maintained his anger perpetually,[f]
and kept his wrath[g] forever.
12 So I will send a fire on Teman,
and it shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah (Bozrah in Edom Bozrah means sheepfold or enclosure in Hebrew[2] and was a pastoral city in Edom southeast of the Dead Sea. According to the biblical narrative, it was the home city of one of Edom’s kings, Jobab son of Zerah (Genesis 36:32-33) and the homeland of Jacob‘s twin brother, Esau.).
13 (in direct rebellion against GOD Almighty) because they have ripped open pregnant women in Gilead
in order to enlarge their territory.
14 So I will kindle a fire against the wall of Rabbah,
fire that shall devour its strongholds,
with shouting on the day of battle,
with a storm on the day of the whirlwind;
(Rabbah——-*At length, having taken the “royal city” (or the “city of waters,” 2 Samuel 12:27 , i.e., the lower city on the river, as distinguished from the citadel), Joab sent for David to direct the final assault ( 11:1 ; 12:26-31 ). The city was given up to plunder, and the people were ruthlessly put to death, and “thus did he with all the cities of the children of Ammon.” The destruction of Rabbath was the last of David’s conquests. His kingdom now reached its farthest limits ( 2 Samuel 8:1-15 ; 1 Chronicles 18:1-15 ). The capture of this city is referred to by ( Amos 1:14 ), ( Jeremiah 49:2Jeremiah 49:3 ), and ( Ezekiel 21:20 ; 25:5 ). A city in the hill country of Judah ( Joshua 15:60 ), possibly the ruin Rubba, six miles north-east of Beit-Jibrin.*)
ch 2 because he burned to lime the bones of the king of Edom. ( I believe this is referring to melting of human remains and burying the remains under buildings and mounds or within walls at evil temples)it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth,
Kerioth—– A town in the south of Judah ( Joshua 15:25 ). Judas the traitor was probably a native of this place, and hence his name Iscariot. It has been identified with the ruins of el-Kureitein, about 10 miles south of Hebron. (See HAZOR [4]).
4. because they have rejected the law of the Lord,
and have not kept his statutes,
but they have been led astray by the same lies
after which their ancestors walked.
6.because they sell the righteous for silver,
and the needy for a pair of sandals— ( I believe this means for fame and money, but also cheap slave labor to make fashion shoes)
7. they who trample the head of the poor into the dust of the earth,
and push the afflicted out of the way;
father and son go in to the same girl,
so that my holy name is profaned;
8 they lay themselves down beside every altar
on garments taken in pledge;
and in the house of their God they drink
wine bought with fines they imposed.
ch 3: 2 You only have I known
of all the families of the earth;
therefore I will punish you
for all your iniquities. (iniquities- sins, transgressions, iniquities, and abominations, even supporting and not acting or fighting against)
9 Proclaim to the strongholds in Ashdod,
and to the strongholds in the land of Egypt,
10. store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.
12 Thus says the Lord: As the shepherd rescues from the mouth of the lion two legs(evil men), or a piece of an ear(lies and deceit), so shall the people of Israel who live in Samaria be rescued, with the corner of a couch and part[b] of a bed.
14 On the day I punish Israel for its transgressions,
I will punish the altars of Bethel(idols),
and the horns of the altar shall be cut off ( sacrifices abominations. also removed from the tribe or family of CHRIST.) and fall to the ground(death).
ch 4 :12 Therefore thus I will do to you, O Israel;
because I will do this to you,
prepare to meet your God, O Israel!
ch 5:15 Hate evil and love good,
and establish justice in the gate;
it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts,
will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.(Jacob put Ephraim the younger ahead of Manasseh the firstborn. 2 of the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel)
21 I hate, I despise your festivals,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
22 Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the offerings of well-being of your fatted animals
I will not look upon.
23 Take away from me the noise of your songs;
I will not listen to the melody of your harps.( similar to what is written in The Book of Jeremiah)
24 But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
27 therefore I will take you into exile beyond Damascus, says the Lord, whose name is the God of hosts.
ch 6: 2 Cross over to Calneh, and see;
from there go to Hamath the great;
then go down to Gath ( skull goth. mounds of death bones. piles of mass graves underground) of the Philistines.)
Are you better[a] than these kingdoms?
6 who drink wine from bowls,
and anoint themselves with the finest oils,
but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph! ( the Christians of Jews that are living Blessed and easy lives, but a too concerned with being happy and have no concern for those of the Tribe or Christin family that a poor and living as slaves*or human trafficking)
12But you have turned justice into poison
and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood—
13 you who rejoice in Lo-debar,[g]
ch 8:5 We will make the ephah small and (fake money or soft money. money manipulation. making great money weak and weak money great.) the shekel great,
and practice deceit with false balances,
